To be serious, helping people is a good thing. But, it is the person's fault if he or she does not pass exams. Asking questions on yahoo can sometimes be useless or useful. We can't stop them from asking questions right? So don't worry about them. Just answer as many questions as you can, but always remember that the people who ask questions can hurt themselves if they do not understand the assignment. It's not the answerer's fault.

I agree with the two answerers above me. You have the option to answer questions in this category or not, it is not compulsory. Yes, sometimes some of these students seem lazy, and I bypass any questions asking for an essay to be written or a whole set of questions that need answering, when one question would suffice if they were willing to be shown how to solve it.
However, I get equally frustrated by people who post questions like yours in here, because it seems to me you take the points and offer nothing constructive to the category so technically this type of question is point gaming.
The Homework Help category exists, if you dislike it or what it seems to stand for, you have the freedom of choice to post in any of the other less 'offensive' categories.
I would rather give a helping hand or some guidance in the right direction to the pupils who really are stuck and just don't know where else to go, and know that they are making the effort, than ignore genuine appeals for help and have them just not bother making any attempt.

I understand your point, and I admit that I agree with your philosophy. However, I'm here to answer questions, not to judge. If I don't want to help with homework questions or any question, I can refuse by not doing it or leave. Some people will do ANYTHING to keep from doing their own work. My question: Although I'M honest with the answers I give people on this site, no matter the category, some people aren't. How do they know that the answer they've chosen, since they didn't want to find it themselves, is right?

Just so you know I don't hate anyone........However if you don't want to help then don't go to homework help.
Sometimes so much homework is passed out and the students have not yet learned how to get the best results in the search.
That's where I like to help.

Very good question!
I think they want to take the easy way out. They spend so much time on MySpace that they don't have time to do their homework.
Some people have an honest question and really need help. I am not afraid to help them find the answer. But to write an essay is not my style.

Well, when I need help with my homework, I ask for explanations on how to do the problem. Not necessarily asking for the answer the the problem itself. I prefer that way, because it's explaining so you actually learn. I agree with you 100% that people shouldn't just ask for the answers.

I dont want to stereotype, but if you notice, a lot of things are being easier for the generation growing up right now. It is so easy to get Yahoo! Answers to do their homework for them, so why bother doing it themselves? Its sad but true... We are just plain getting lazy.
I agree with you completely - how can you survive in the workforce if you never learn to do your own research??

Thank You. I feel the same way. Not doing your homework only hurts you in the end or on a really important test!!!!!

They're lazy and people don't care so they go ahead and do it for them. They'd rather get their points then actually encourage someone to think for himself.
