For those who have wanted to see this since it was first announced:
Have the trailers "What's with the chain?" in prime commercial air time made you feel that it will be less than initially expected?
I love Christina Ricci and still have high hopes, but the commercialism of the trailers is making me start to think I should hold off till its on video.

she is being kept hostage. She is supposed to be a nympho and he is "holding" her to teach her the ills of her ways. he is a washed up bible thumping blues man trying to redeem her soul
frankly, i thought the movie was a joke when i first heard about it. then i saw the website for it in a mag... and thought it was a porno (i mean come one.. BLACK SNAKE MOAN?)

The name of it, "Black Snake Moan" the point of her being chained like a slave cause of her "Wicked Ways". It is the same hate in films that has been seen over and over. During Black History Month it is just a spiteful action in an already volatile world.

It's received a high rating at imdb.com, but I'm not sure how that's possible, since it hasn't opened in most theaters yet.
I'm guessing the title of the movie is a blues song reference.
