if I can buy iron and folic acid and maybe other vitamins that one needs during pregnancy by just going to the drugstore or I need a doctor's prescription. I'm asking cause I'm in costa rica and in here I can get them by just going to the drugstore and I'm traveling to england in a week but I don't know if you can get them the same way in England, Thanks

No you dont need a prescription 2 get niether of those vitamins but be sure to ask a doctors advice on how much you should take. You really need folic acid during pregnancy. If you get iron pills be careful not to get them too strong because it may cause constipation.

Probably not - you should be able to buy them over the counter at a pharmacy. You can buy a combined multi vitamin for folic acid and iron and all the other essentials your body will need for pre, during and post pregnancy.

Yep, you can buy them in a chemists / drugstore - they even have special pregnancy formulations of vitamins / folic acid and minerals which you can buy, they're probably the best thing to get here

You can buy at chemist and even supermarkets now.
There is something called 'Pregnacare' which covers folic acid and iron and other multi vits essential for pregnancy but my midwife told me it was better to take the vitamins naturally through food so I upped my fruit & veg

you don't need a prescription for that.Folic acid should be enough though but if your doctor said you have iron deficency you should get that too. I only took folic acid untill 20 weeks of pregnancy but after that i was told i need iron tablets as well because my blood test showed i had iron deficency. You don't need a prescription though for any of these tablets.
