Can it be done? I have a job, and will be 18 in 2 months. I'm thinking Cingular. Anyone know if they're good?

Thanks

You have to be 18 to have a contract. Either wait, or get a pay as you go phone that doesn't have a contract.

You can get a parent to put the phone in their name for you. But no, I think you have to be 18 to enter into one yourself.

And I know you're not going to want to hear this, but cell phone contracts can really be a pain. I'm in my mid 20s and all my friends have had big cell phone contract problems at one point or another. Cell phone contracts are like marriages. You think you're going to be together forever, and then 6 months down the road... YOU WANT OUT!

Try Virgin Mobile. The phones are a reasonable price, and the plans are extremely easy to stick to (or leave if you choose to).

I currently have Cingular, I switched from Sprint when I turned old enough to have an account in my own name. Cingular is better than Sprint, because given the fact that you are not 18 yet and don't have established credit, Sprint usually charges a $125 deposit for not having credit. Cingular doesn't do that. You can go sign up when you turn 18 and shouldn't have any problems. But you do have to be 18.

If my oldest daughter could get credit cards at 16, when she was that age, I reckon you could get a phone contract.. But, I highly recommend you just "pay as you go" with tracfone's. There so great, because if your not feeling like paying for bills at any given time, you will just have a certain time frame in which to get your minutes by again, or the phone number will get changed. Unless, you are trying to establish credit, in order to get out on your own, and if that's the case, I would go with buying something through fingerhut. com.. they will send you a catalog, just as soon as you send them $3.00 and a copy of your ID (identification), just log onto their site, and get there address or I'll just give it to you, so you can establish credit, and that way when your ready to move out on your own, you will already have gotten your credit going.. and they deal with TRW, so that you will have shown that you've made your payment's for like towels, or a tv, or a camera, or furniture, anything!! They have it!!! And the great thing about their company is, they will give you like a "Credit Card" to order anything you need, and you have to mail them $20.00 a month, for your card payment.. And this way it will leave you enough to buy minutes, through tracfone, and if you get your minutes online, you get an additional 20 minutes.. And you can get as low as 10 minutes at a time, or 500 minutes at a time.. They sell flip fones, and have games on them, text messaging, and caller Id, and they may even sell fones, with the camera's in them, I'm not sure about that.. But if you went through Cingular, I would call them first and see if they deal with TRW, for credit references, if they dont, then I wouldn't do it at all. Here's Fingerhut phone number and address for you,hun... Okay, its called: Fingerhut Down-Pay-Offer" is the heading of your envelope... the address is: P.O. Box 0230 (next line is) St.Cloud, MN. (next line is)56395 and their phone number is: 1800-356-2347, and once you've written a letter requesting to establish credit with them, then a money order for $3.00 for the catalog, and a photo copy of your ID , or your driver's license, then you just wait to get your catalog, and go from there on what you want to order.. Actually there's a different address to get the catalog from, but you can call that number to get all that information, from them and just tell them what your desire is, hun... Because unfortunately until you've established credit, you will never be able to get an house, or apartment of your own, when you so desire, without credit.. And what a better way to get it, then start by buying things you need for it!!! Good Luck to you hun!! Smile!!!
