A few hours ago!! Sorry, nope.

The customer should have counted his change on the spot. That's the universal rule. The onus is on the customer to ensure that his change is correct.

Recount the money in the drawer, make a cashier report, retrack the camera... all these will take time & meanwhile your other customers are waiting impatiently to be served, or the cashier concerned could be made more useful shortening other cashiers' queues.

If possible, take the drawer out right then, do a reading on the register and balance it out right then and there. If the drawer is $70 over, your customer is right. Also, what kind of person is your employee? Honest and trustworthy? Why would the customer not notice the $70 missing for an hour? You want to keep the customer happy but you cannot just hand $70 over to her if she is not correct.

Do a cashier report and tally the amount in the register. if there's an excess of $70 than that's the customer's if not the customer might be lying. Otherwise the cashier might have kept it... is this frequent??

recalculate watever u have in ur drawer n see if tally wit the sales tat u have entered in the cash register. if there is a camera..track back to see how much tat customer gives u //n how much change u have returned. if everythin was given properly..i dun c the nd of returnin the shortfall of the 70bucks. if u r extremely sure tat u did not make a mistake...there is nothin to worry abt..even if the customer reports to the police. there r minority of customer who try to cheat on retailers...b extra careful... there r all nigerians who likes to give counterfeits notes(ususally USD notes) ..pls do not accept them if u do not know how to tell the genuine ones fr the fake ones

You count down your drawer and see if the money is there. And if not your cashier either stole it or the lady is lying.
