I think I have pretty broad shoulders for a girl, so I always feel self-conscious whenever I wear strapless shirts. Does it look as bad as how I think it looks, or am I just being too critical of myself?

Haha yeah, I'm definitely not going to post a picture of myself on the internet!

But I'm about 5'7", and I'm pretty toned from running track, but I'm not skinny by any means

I would recommend avoiding strapless or spaghetti strap tops but you can certainly wear bubble sleeves which is close enough to strapless and spaghetti straps. Bubble sleeves cover your shoulders in a fashionable way and allows you the feel and comfort of not wearing sleeves since they only go as far as the tip of your shoulders.

Hope this helps and don't feel bad about your body. We are all different in our own ways. Important thing is to understand your body's shape and accessorize and accentuate it the best you can to create your own individual look.

Hope this helps!

Strapless in a solid neutral is fine i.e. black, beige, grey, navy. Spaghetti straps or thin straps are a big no no. The main thing is that you want to compliment your shape without emphasizing areas that are broad/larger - you don't want to wear something that makes a person's eyes go directly to a trouble spot or an area you aren't so comfortable with.

invite a friend over and ask her
we don't know what you look like
and its not wise posting a pic of you in a strapless shirt online

u could always just wear the strapless shirt
and then bring a jacket to cover up if you feel uncomfortable.

No, strapless or halters won't make them look bad--just more noticeable. Be happy I'm sure your shoulders accentuate great posture.

sometimes the color of the shirt can make a difference. Black and brown colors, can reduce the image size of the shoulders, as brighter, primary colors (blue, red, etc.) will probably make it more noticable.

Strapless probably is a no no, but very feminine shirts with ruffles on the sleeves look good with your body type.
