I'm often confronted with two forms
1 in answers eg LoL, Pmsl etc and
2 on the computer eg tmps, im, and others

Personally I like this site. It is user maintained and rated so you will normally have the latest definitions available. And, like any dictionary it lists multiple definitions as applicable.

There is a search box at the top of the page. Enter the word or abbreviation you are interested in, click the search button and it will go straight to it.
Beware, there are some of these things that are case sensitive so use upper and lower case appropriately.
