One of my family members has always wanted a Roomba vacuum thing. I told her that I would get it for her for her birthday but she asked me to get the imitations instead of the trademark product (costing upwards of $250).

Does anyone know of any other brands that work effectively and are in the price range of up to $150? I found one for $50 but it seems too good to be true..

Thanks :o)

I find that cheap knockoffs - are mostly that - a cheap copy of the real thing seldom works any where near as well - (experience talking) but try it if you must.

Good news - there are sales, coupons, price cuts and free accessories.

The basic iRobot Roomba is $119 - see Item No. 4000 - it's (dark cherry) red & black - comes with a a standard battery - you can always add extra accessories later.

The standard Roomba Red is $149 - Item No. 4300 - comes with the APS battery, charger, 2 filters and virtual wall.

I'm planning to try the Roomba Sage for Pets - I haven't made up my mind so first I may get the Dirt Dog Workshop Robot.

be careful if you have pets like cats and dogs. they go "crazy" when you run your iRobot Roomba Virtual Wall
