Hi! I have a regular plain desk top tower (Dell 3000) with windows XP. I purchased on e-bay 2 used sticks of 1GB each of PC3200 DDR
400 Mhz 184 pin RAM. This is not my first Ram upgrade on this computer so I am postive that I ordered the right kind of Ram. However this time when using either one of the two sticks or both of them the computer will not only not boot up but a buzzer sounds inside the computer (long beeps). I am convinced at this point that I just have two defective ram sticks and I am just looking for confirmation on it. Thank You
I

It's most likely that is beyond the motherboards limits, and won't work. Put the old ram back and see if it works. Look up on DELLS site for the specs.

The RAM is the two defective, or this is the incorrect velocity/form to your gadget, or it became into no longer put in properly into the sockets. no longer adequate ingredient to assert from now on than that. one ingredient, this is amazingly basic for human beings to no longer setting up laptop RAM each and each of ways into the socket. touch the broker and deliver it returned for alternative.

Check the BIOS beep codes for your BIOS. Sounds like duff RAM though.

The memory is what is causing the problem. Whether it is bad, or the wrong kind (sorry) is another issue. Is there a second computer you can test the memory in?
