The Rosen Hotels and the Peabody are pricey but wonderfully nice and gorgeous. My fiance has worked at both of these hotels and highly recommends them to anyone that doesn't mind spending a bit more. The Quality Inn's and Rodeway are run by Rosen but more affordable, they definitely are "cheaper" but not bad at all. I have stayed in one (forgot which one, sorry) and it wasn't bad at all, definitely would go back.
These are only a few there are so many more hoteles in the area, but hopefully this has helped some.

The Quality Inn on Idrive is very close- across from Wonderworks but the place is awful- so don't stay there- unless you want rats and stuff-if I had to stay on Idrive- I'd stay at the Embassy Suites. I say the Quality Inn is bad because I worked there and had to stay there on occasion and I could not believe that place. Absolutly disgusting
The Embassy Suites is the other experience I had on Idrive- didn't work there_LOL- but have stayed there thru the hurricanes and it was great
