why put a limit on how many friends you should have while celebrating a special day especially if she's a teenager? that's crazy unless you want to make sure things don't go out of hand. If you make sure the people you invite are the birthday person's true or close friends, that shouldn't be such a big number.
Have a happy brithday!!

There was about 400 people at my 15th birthday birthday party. We made 300 invitations, minus lets say 50 invitations of families that didnt go and some families that received more than one invitation to use to invite whoever they wanted to. That's still a lot of people.

It depends on the budget and the venue. But to have accurate number indicate on the invitation that the party is RSVP and the deadline for confirmation. This means that anyone who will attend should confirm there attendance on the date indicated.

there's a rule of thumb for little kids and birthday parties...one guest for each year...so a 3-yr old can have 3 little friends, etc...makes sense here too. Make it 15 friends...why not?

Umm.
Well, it all depends on how much space you have, and how much you're willing to spend.
