I would recommend getting a book called "Childrens Writers & Illustrators Market 2007" ISBN 1582974357

This is a book that specifically lists publishers who specialize in children's books, as well as children's magazines, etc.

It will also give you information on how to submit your manuscript for consideration by the publisher, how to write a good cover letter, how to pique interest in your work, etc.

It should also give detailed information about what your rights are when you're published.

It also has an extensive list of literary agents who represent children's authors, if you're interested in an agent.

The link I list below takes you to the Barnes & Noble page for this book. Some of the other titles in the "Customers who bought this book also bought..." section are worth checking out.

I would recommend you copy the title and the ISBN number and see if your local library has the title - it would be cheaper than buying. (If you have to buy, check other sources than B&N for price!)

Good luck! Hope I'll be reading one of your books one day!

I would suggest that you find an agent. Try the 2007 Guide to Literary Agents. An agent will be able to help you with the rest.

If you're just looking to publish for family/friends, try a print-on-demand service.
