Why do my male friends tell me this stuff?

I know I can be easy to talk too...but I just don't get this one! A male friend of mine stops by to chat once and a while! He brings pizza and pepsi with him everytime. I almost can't turn him away when he comes...cause he is so sweet. We are just friends and no future happening with him will ever occur. He isn't the type of guy i would ever date. But he seems to think he needs to tell me all about his love life. Well...what ever he gets! He is older and not in the best shape of his life. So hearing this wild love life...makes me question him sometimes. He talks to me like i'm one of the guys alot. This can be great at times and others are just down right weird. My question is this...He came over tonight with a pizza and the latest story about the past Saturday night. He told me in detail about an encounter with two young women. After hearing the details about the money he flashed around the bar...i question wether they were paid..Should i tell him my real opinion, or let him lie?

Why do even listen to this? It should not be a question of whether you believe the story or not. Your challenging his story will only encourage him. Whenever the conversation gets "weird" you should just say, I like hanging out with you over pizza and Pepsi but I'd rather not discuss your love life. Let's just watch a movie or something.

Well, you've got a few things to deal with here. First of all, assuming that you are truly just friends and that you wish to remain as such...and the wild stories are making you uncomfortable, then you need to tell him straight out, in a kind manner, that you don't wish to hear such intimate details of his love life.
Secondly, I suspect that he WANTS to be more than friends with you and that is perhaps why he tells you these stories, hoping to impress you with his "abilities" and money. Perhaps an open discussion with him in regard to this subject is needed as well. Something like "I hope you know I only feel friendship towards you and I'm wondering if maybe you want something more. If that's true, I'd like to clear the air and make sure you understand that I'm not interested in that with you; however, I do enjoy our friendship and hope that we can continue with that.
Finally, as for your suspicions that he is lying or exaggerating or even paying these women he meets, I don't think there's any need to accuse him of anything. Hopefully by telling him that you're uncomfortable hearing about such things he'll stop telling you the stories and you won't have to even wonder anymore. Good luck.

You two are supposed to be friends, sure it's ok to talk about what your opinion, even though he may be offended, it might clear up the truth, some guys (me) have a knack for expanding the truth, chances are he didn't tell the whole story, or he didn't have any money to begin with so he thinks he tells you to make himself feal better, either case, you can stop him before he tells the every body about his "day."

Trust me, he'll thank you later before every body tells him what he thinks.

all guys are like that, they are not like girls that have trust and alot of gossup, they don't care ehat they talk about and just let things go by. they'll talk about things then forget about them afterwards. it's different with guys and girls. as guys like to talk about it once as girls don't forever telling the same things. btu it's pretty cool to have that kind of thing with guys. that are more open than any girl you'll have as for a friend. it's funny after being girls you'll miss what guys say and do to make you feel urself as you know u change when your around girls. do u know where i am getting at?
as for me i love to hang out with guys and be myself, they don't really care how you act around them as long as you are you. they are not jugdable.

guys tell me things that r real personal alot to. but he mite like you and is just showing off so you should believe his stories and showno intrest at all. plus he mite give you some ifo on guys that u can use to your advantage!!!!!!
