How do you spoil someone who cannot do for themself? To me this is a precious time of bonding. As they get older and start knowing the right from the wrong, and the ability to do age related things for them selves, than i believe spoiling may begin. by the child using manipulation with the parents...If they whine or throw fits, the parents give in,etc..to avoid conflict mostly and from there it snowballs...(my opinion)

You can not spoil a baby.

Every effort you give to your baby will be payed back by a child which feels sure with you. The beginnig is the time one learns trust and the fulfillment of one's needs. If one doesn't receive this, one will never be able to give to others, lateron.

With the age of about 2, children will try to test their limits. When you are firm but friendly, you will get over this time easily. Just always stick to your decision but be fair, i.e. If you allow yourself candy, you must allow the child some, too.

Most important: Be a good friend and leader.

oh yes a baby can be spoiled from time they are born... if you start off rocking a baby a certain way or singing a certain song or laying them across your chest to sleep then they get use to that and nothing else will work unless you do the same thing everytime that is spoiled.. you can spoil a child in many ways. like most parent wants everybody to be very quiet when baby is sleeping. wrong let them learn to sleep where there is noise that way they will fall asleep anywhere and time they need to..

yes BUT no.... you have to be careful not to start out on the wrong foot.... sure ther eis the ericson trust versus mistruct however - if you pick up the child everytime they make a peep they will never learn to confort themselves - there is a legit time of waiting -- a parent/grandparent/care giver can tell if it's a cyr of just "cry" or a cry of - it's getting bad and we need to get in there.

Well since you can definitely neglect them I'm going to have to say you can, when theres a low end to it there has to be a high end.
