If conservatives (generally) advocate banning drugs, flag burning, abortion and gay marriage, and support the NSA's illegal wiretapping program, why do they think liberals are in favor of a larger, more controlling government?
(and please, no put-downs or insults. I will flag anything that is not a pertinent answer)

You are thinking of men like Bush, not true conservatives. As a true conservative I do not support the NSA wiretapping program because it is a violation of people's rights, I could care less about illegal drugs, abortion, and gay marriage. If you want to do those things, it is your priority. But also know that you ARE RESPONSIBLE for the consequences of poor choice. Don't come whining to me if your illegal drug use has destroyed your life.

This country would be a WHOLE LOT better if people would just take some personal responsibility from time to time and not expect the government to bail them out of everything. It should also be the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY of those who are blessed with good luck and fortune to help less fortunate in their communities. It is the responsibility of people, not the government to feed the poor, clothe the naked, and house the homeless.

I am not against helping those that are having a stroke of bad luck with a little government aid, I am against people living off of and becoming dependent on government aid for their survival which is exactly what liberals intend to do. Social security, medicare, and soon to be added to the list universal health care are all ways that liberals are trying to make each and every one of us dependents of the government.

Both republicans and democrats have expanded government. Just in different areas.

Universal Healthcare would greatly expand government, and thats generally a liberal agenda, for example.

Conservatism doesn't advocate government expansion. But in the areas that government has expanded well obviously the conservative angle wasnt pursued.

Rep social gathering has and continuously be for much less government. Bush made undesirable errors spending like a liberal. Many reps have been very disappointed with him and the rep social gathering because of the fact of it. i opt for somebody who fairly needs much less government. i will guard myself and my very own..i dont choose the government to do it. Like Regan mentioned, "The goverment isnt the answer to the undertaking, the government IS the undertaking." extra government = much less freedom.

because they think that everything revolves around them.... and that everyone who is not on their side are the people that they are against...for example...abortion...some men think that we should still have it... and gay marriage..some straight people are like do whatever...thats their life let them do what they want...but yeah...
and they think that they are always right
