Go to your local craft store and let your daughter (?) pick out crafting kits. Or provide pieces of cardboard, fabric paints, and white t-shirts. Put the cardboard in the t shirts, and let the girls design them. That should take awhile.
Is it a slumber party? If so, rent a movie, pop some popcorn, mix resess pieces in it, and let the girls hang out in front of the tv with their sleeping bags and pj's, popcorn, and drinks- if you allow it in the tv room.
provide markers and those new felt pictures- designs outlined in black felt, and let them color them. they are available at target, walmart, meijer, etc, and at craft stores.
I have waaay too many ideas to type them all here. if you need more, you can email me @ jamieluamerihost@yahoo.com

Crafts are always great. Let's see, we've painted flowerpots (last year for birthday 8), the girls loved that! We've tye-died socks, made bead jewelry, made foam things like door-hangars or photo albums. If you go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels they have kits of things to do, and then you don't have to buy the kits-you can buy the supplies individually. It's good for ideas though.
You could make/buy small individual cakes and have a cake-decorating contest or a sundae building contest.
Doing a kids manicure/pedicure party would be lots of fun too as would an American Girl party. Karoake is a big hit as is Dance Dance Revolution. Also, if you have a video camera, my girls love doing "shows". Get a disco ball and/or a strobe light and have them do a dance or play or a concert.
It sounds like fun!! Go plan!! Take lots of pictures :)

A sleepover would be nice then for activities I remember always loved doing makeovers to one another. You can always by those inexpensive little manicure and pedicure kits as well. There are cute little games out there like "truth or dare jenga". Then having fun snacks like a trail mix, popcorn and some candy while watching an appropriate chick flick would be good too. Have fun!

How about arranging with a local roller-skating place to cater the party for your girl and her friends. In the longrun, they'll have plenty of fun, the eats and drinks, possibly the decorations and the cleanup are all taken care of and you'll have some pretty neat pictures of the birthday girl to remember the occasion???

My daughter liked sleepover parties.
We would order pizza and get some appropriate movie rentals and maybe have some extra chips & dips and soda. Plus the cake and ice cream and balloons to pop.
I wouldn't worry about them, they will have a great time.
Just get yourself earplugs, because a pack of girls can be VERY loud. ;)
