I've read about circadian rhythms and so on, but I have also read that the biological clock is slightly off, and calculates days as constantly getting shorter. Is this so? How come? I know that I always seem to get it wrong when I estimate what time it is.

Biological clocks, per se are about as accurate as people's ability to estimate distance or weight, but for different reasons.

Some people can judge passage of time to within a minute (I can when I want to), some can't.

Some can judge elapsed time to +/- a few minutes, some can barely tell you approximately how many *hours* have passed.

Finally, you have the circadian rhythms...everyone is pre-pragrammed to a 14-16 hour day with 8-10 hours of sleep. For whatever reason, different people seem to be biologically "most active" at different times. Some can re-program it easily, some can't. I can reset myself reasonably easily (I can work nights or days, but I'm screwed for an evening shift).

Our biological clock is the clock the time when we should wake up or the time when to sleep. Every person's biological clock is different from one another. Biological clock depends on the lifestyle of the person.

Hmmm i think biological clocks have more to do with life not actual time of day.. i think it may calculate days wrong as we are most probably evolving therefore our bodies are changing but nevertheless guessing time of day is easy when you are in a routined lifestyle!!
