Can they be walked on a leash. Do they have claws that could ruin furniture, etc.

Skunks can make good pets IF you understand them. You NEVER want to hit a skunk or you will not get him to tame down,It only takes one time. Some skunks will become so fond of someone they are with that they will mark them every chance they get. They can be walked on leash but have to be trained.They will use a litter box but have to be trained to it also.(lots of patience on that one) They do have claws. They love to eat carpet !!! LIME GREEN to be exact....$600.00 to replace...

Yes they have to be litter box trained....i saw a show with a lady that had skunks and they waked on a leash......yes they do have claws but i don't believe that they claw furniture like cats do...check out some books, look on the net and talk to some owners.....if you really want one do your home work...i am getting a yorkie in a year and i already have 26 pages of info. that i have collected so that i know as much as i can BEFORE i get my puppy

I don't think they are legal to have as pets in every state. Make sure to check the laws for exotic pets where you live.
