My name is Laura too! It has a lot of meanings which I have collected:

Victory! Derived from the laurel that Ceasar wore as a crown, and that are placed around the winning horses' neck at the finish line. It is a proud name which I am a member. I think it's a form of Laurel...

All the Laura's and Lori's I've ever known were self centered, egotisitical, competitive, back biting, loose females.

But that's just my experience. You might be nicer.
