i've been speaking to some white people and i said something and they say, "word". i never knew what that meant. can soemone tell me?

I'm not exactly sure, but my guess would be that instead of saying "I'm speachless", like some people would say, they say "word", just so that they have something to say about something amazing???

Sorry that's really confusing, but it's all I've got.

it basicly is a slang term that means "i agree"
