My husband woke up with this once. It was touching the back of his tongue. Turns out there is a whole website devoted to people who have had this problem. It went back to normal by the way.

I had that happen before...It has always happened after a night of drinking...I think I slept with my mouth open

That hasn't happened to me. However, a piece of cereal got stuck to it once. Let me tell you, that uvula is like a fly catcher. It was a long uncomfortable hour until I got it off.
