First of all you need to go to her before you get your report card and tell her that you do not understand math or American History and you think that you need tutoring. Tell her you know that you are going to have some bad grades on your report card and you did not want her to find out the hard way. Don't cry or try not to anyway, but if you do that is OK to. You want her to know that you are doing your best but you know that is not good enough.
Your best bet will be tutoring. Did you know that more girls than boys have trouble with math, because we don't think logically, and the same goes with History us girls have a tendancy to be bored with it. There is not a whole lot to understand, the problem is there is a whole lot to remember. And each year we add more to it. So stand tall and go talk to gramma before she goes to bed. You are not the first person to have such problems and you certainly want be the last. She will feel like she can trust you if you talk to her.

Well, here's what I'd do. I'd go talk to both teachers and see what you can do to boost your grade, where you can go to get help, maybe see if you can get tutors, etc. Do it right away tomorrow before school. Then, go home and explain the situation to your grandmother and be sure to let her know that you have spoken with the teachers and have figured out how you're going to get help and what you will do when you feel yourself starting to slip in the future. This way she sees you being proactive instead of the kid who says, "but it's the teacher's fault! She doesn't know how to teach!" While this might be true in some cases, it's rare. Particularly since your teacher went through an education program and was certified by your state to teach, as well as passed through a rigorous interview process. Good luck and if your grandmother sees how mature you are handling the situation, she probably won't be as upset.

I would ask both teachers if there is any way you could do some extra credit to bring up the grades. I would also ask your counselor about after school tutoring programs or help groups. They might sound dorky but they can be really helpful. If those aren't available talk to your grandma about buying you some computer programs in the subjects. Sometimes all it takes is something being taught to you a different way to make everything 'click'. But about breaking the news.... I would tell her you have made the above efforts that you are doing your personal best but you're having problems really understanding.

Honesty is always best, and I think your Gramma would agree. I think you should sit down with her and explain that you are having troubles with understanding your history and maths, and say that you are trying,.. You should also considor speaking to your year advisor at school and see if they have anything to offer in the way of extra help, maybe a tutor etc. Goodluck..

get a note from your teachers saying exactly what you said, that ur trying but suck at it and those are old frades and have them put ur curent grades on the note as well. ur gramma wont belive it from you. you should probably get a tutor as well if you dot have one, ask the school counsler or ask her math and history teachers if you can come in one lunch period a week for help, mean teachers will say not but nice ones will say yes the odds are like fifty fifty
