No one judges each other on how they dress or how much money it costs or don't.
Easier to get dressed in the morning cuz u already know what to wear.
You save money on close in the long run, as long as school cloths r school cloths and after school is after school cloths.

Having a dresscode builds structure and discipline. The downside to this is obvious, you can't wear what you want. I think they are good and can keep students more focused on work and not their or some else's clothes.

Good: It develops team thinking and unites the pupils in a general way, it makes it harder for kids to conceil weapons depending on the type and bagginess of the uniform, it removes teasing and bullying about different kinds of dress, it looks hot on asian girls, it gives your school good odds of having a punk music video filmed at your school ;p, and it forces kids to iron their clothes and take pride in what they wear.
Bad: It takes away from our rights to expression, oppresses our condition, sometimes they might be very tacky ands lack style, who wants to wear the same thing day in and day out? so people stink more if they dont do their laundry frequently, costs money to buy the form, kids might want to rebel against this conformity because this is normal for their age ;p, stains tend to become more noticeable :), and lastly, it makes the kids feel like they're in the military or something?

Well i go to an all girl private school, so we have to wear a uniform. The good thing about our uniform is that it doesnt look that bad and that we no what to wear but after wearing green, black and white for six years you get fed up with it

Kids that are not wealthy aren't pressured to buy name brand fashion clothing.
It helps the kids focus more on the academics and not on the fashion statements.
It does not allow individuality through fashion, but allows kids to be more creative in others way to create their own individuality.
It saves money on buying wardrobes.
Everybody feels more equal and nobody looks like a nerd.

The good thing about a school dress code is that it really limits the ability of students to embarrass themselves by dressing slutty. I don't know of any bad things.

Bad: kids hate it
Good: keeps kids from dressing like idiots

While I don't like the way most kids dress these days, I don't particularly like the idea of forcing them to wear certain clothes. Obviously they shouldn't be allowed to wear clothes with offensive materials (ie, foul language, sexually explicit etc). But let them be who they are.

****Please note this answer is from my daughter who absolutely hates the dress code, and would rather wear her own clothes.
Here's her answer:

Bad things about having a school dress code is you all look the same and you cant be told apart from each other. (if someone sees you from the back)
And a school dress code is boring because you wear the same colors everyday and you look like you havent changed your cloths in about a week.
Or even a month.

Good: Equality
Bad: Everyone cant afford to have tons of dress code.

Thats one of the reasons America implemented NO dress code.
