Hi I have about 150 G on my hard drive. But it is almost full. However when I goto MY computer or do search, i do not see where all that space is going. I must confess my son has downloaded videos from bit torrent. I want to delete them but I can not find them on my hard drive. I want to get rid of large files, but i can not find them. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

You need to go to windows explorer (Right-Click on the START button, and then select "Explore"), click on Tools - Folder Options, View, scroll down and check the box that says, "Show Hidden Files". He has probably downloaded content he does not want you to see, and has hidden it in a folder.

Now, click that window off and click on the START button, click on Search, click on the Arrow that says, "Pictures, Music, or video", then click on the checkbox next to video, then click on Search.

Be forwarned, you may see things with titles that LOOK MUCH WORSE then the actual content of the videos - that is very typical of the internet. Once you have done the search, you can right-click on the individual videos to delete them.

Let us know how it turns out. If you need help with any of this, send me a message.

Right mouse click on the lower left Start button and choose Explore. That will bring up everything that is on your computer. You can also left mouse click and do a "search" to locate certain files or program names. If you want to delete programs, left mouse click Start, choose Control Panel, and then Add/Remove programs. Be very careful what you remove though.

Click Start> My Computer
Right-click Local Disk (C:) and choose properties. This will show you how much free space there is.

Get a free folder sizer utility program and install it to your computer. When you explore drive C: you'll be able to sort folders according to their size.

I would tell you to back up files and reformat but it is probably better if you take it in for service and let a tech do it if you don't know what to do.
