have computer not hooked to internet - pics keep popping up?

i have a computer that is not hooked up to internet, but has yucky pics that pop up (previous owner had many nasty viruses on it). I use it for my child to play games on and do some school work on. I cleared all of the videos, cookies, and anything that was downloaded on there that I could tell was a virus. Pictures have popped up since I cleaned it up. I defragged and everything. Please advise - pics are way too grafic for a child to see!

do a complete format and reload

You have ad-ware. I use McAfee and never have that problem.
Try something like that.
