Can you keep a raccoon? Like as a pet? What are the laws regarding raccoons in domestic situations?

Raccoons are wild animals. It is illegal to have a wild animal without a permit.

They DO NOT make good pets!

i have had a raccoon before it was a good pet until it gets like a year old and starts wanting to breed thats when they get very agressive i not to sure about the laws on them i just never took it around anyone or showed it off.

Don't know the laws, but if you get one, you have to find them before they open their eyes. They are a wild animal and don't usually make good pets.
After they reach mating age, they get mean and agressive. They can really bite. Also can carry rabies.
I don't suggest it. They are a smart, curious animal and keeping something like that in a cage would not be a good life for it.
A girlfriend of mine had one in the house for awhile. It was tame but it destroyed everything! It was cute though.
