Just enter your URL into a search engine like Google. It's database will eventually "webcrawl" it for keywords & it will show up when people type in those keywords.
That's the secret .... having specific keywords on your site that will generate more hits via Google's (for example) database.

Build inbound links to your website.
Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank
