I am making a book to hand around to the guests and for them to fill in, that way after the party she will have a book of all her friends memories and feelings of her...Like best memory, most embarrassing story, most funny etc... I am also after a inspirational, tear to the eye poem to put in the front any suggestions would be great. THank-you so much :)

I say you contact everyone who's coming to the party well in advance and tell them what you're trying to do. Have them email you their favorite stories and memories of her to you and make her a scrapbook. Fill it with pictures, poems, and the things that everyone has said about her and be creative with it. It will be so much more touching than just passing around a notebook for people to write something in quickly. If they have a little warning, they'll have time to think of something really nice to say. You could make the book into her own little yearbook of her life.

my mom made a 50th anniversary book for her parents a few years ago. It sounds similar. she had all of her siblings write a letter to put in it. These letters told memories and appreciation for everything that thier parents did. My grandparents absolutely LOVED it!!! then you can add a few other things in the scrapbook.
good luck, and have fun! Make sure you put a lot of love into it!

You can email or mail a note to family members or friends and ask them to write a letter to her of all the memories and funniest moments and have them bring it with them and you can quickly put the book together durning the party. That way people arent going to be distracted. Also ask them for pictures of her they may have!

Put plenty of pictures in it, and maybe a section on what was happening in the world 50 years ago.
