Well, the answer to that is simple. Most women in America are average sized or plus sized, and the norm in fashion magazines, celebrities, and models is very thin. This creates some dissonance; that is, the larger population feels like they do not fit the popular views of beauty. To make these people feel better, some people and publications will put down smaller girls since they are a minority, and at their expense try to make everyone else feel better.
Of course, I think this is stupid. Nothing against fat people, but it's unhealthy to be overweight, and I don't think people should go out there saying it's "ok" . On the other hand, I think anorexic models are just as unhealthy and don't need to be promoted as the way to be beautiful either. In the end, some people will naturally have larger frames and others smaller, but having a lean, toned body (which means humans are designed to excercise) is both healthy and attractive.

People bothering others with their physical appearance is just wrong. I used to be your size and people were on my case about it. Now I have gained weight and people are on my case about it. It is enough to give someone an eating disorder not that I have one, but I feel all of that focus on my body is not healthy for me.
What matters with you is if you are healthy and exercise. People are healthy at different weights. You can be very feminine even if you are small. Everyone just needs to wear clothes that look good with their particular body. When I was small I had a small chest. Sometimes people would bother me with that. I just told them it was not a problem to me because I was active and did not want it to get in the way. Now that I am heavier and more curvey I have to wear 2 sports bras when I exercise. It is a pain.
I know some people can discriminate against people who are small, but some people just put people down because they are insecure. Enjoy you petite frame you can date a more guys because you are small.

well my family is mad short and mad skinny. and it shouldn't bother you to be "tiny". you should make it to your advantage and make it work for you. you don't have to do anything to make it. my friend is 4'11 and she's 85 pounds. so w/e . alot of people will say you have no body but just w/e. be proud of what u are and what you have. you have an advantage! work it and make it work. just get clothing that fit your style and your body type so it can show off your curves and make you look better and not even care what other people have to say about you.

It is because some people are jelous and if they say something negative to you that want your self-esteam to be brought down so you dont feel so good about yourself. The best thing to do about it is to not react to it at all. I would know because i am in size 8 childrens jeans in the seventh grade and there are alot of big girls that mess with me!

We make fun of others to hide the insecurities that we have about ourselves. It's much easy to point out flaws in a person than yourself. Most people do it to make them feel better about themselves. It's a vicious cycle! BUT remember, the media tends to perpetuate this kind of stuff too so be careful of what you see on tv.

I would say the exact opposite is being said. "Tiny girls" put larger girls down. At 5'2, I wouldn't call you tiny. Size doesn't determine femininity. Personality plays a big part in attraction. I think most guys would go for a larger girl who didn't go on about weight, height, looks, and who didn't spend their time posing in front of a mirror. Get over yourself

I dont have anything against fat people but what most of them do to make themselves feel better is say that anyone that is smaller than them doesn't look right. Under no conditions would I want to be fat and me and a lot of people like skinny so as long your fine with yourself dont worry about people think.

Star,
That is their own insecurity. It sucks to be them!
I was at the salon today and this grotesque old woman who used to be pretty a long time ago and bombarded everyone with stories of whatever from the 60s actually told me that if I lost 10 pounds and grew my hair long, I could be pretty!
I just looked at her and laughed. She was at least 100 pounds overweight, balding and getting a weave.
How could I take that seriously?

OK, you get mad because people put down short and skinny girls, and what are you doing? now you're putting down averaged size people. you need to just be happy with yourself, and stop doing exactly what others do that upsets you. all you did was make this question to try to innocently get back at all those people out there who voice their opinions on "smaller" people like you.
