Power full car with a power full braking system. Does the juddering come through the brake peddle? If so then the ABS is doing what it is supposed to do, applying the brakes for short bursts. If the juddering is coming from the pump itself check the service record on the car and see when the last time the brake fluid was changed. If the car is a Japanese's import then there is a very good chance that the brake fluid is shot and need to be changed.

If you are worried about the brakes, get it looked at by a competent service mechanic. Don't tinker with abs and brakes unless you know exactly what and how. The possibility of disaster is great!

If you are making a "full power stop" the ABS is cycling and that is the way it works. it vibrates and pulses and sounds like hell.
if it is doing it at light stops - its not abs - but rotors could be warped or have thickness variation. Pads don't matter as long as they got some meat on them.
