I think they're better than those war-mongering racist red-necks. I do consider myself a hippie.... i just dont smoke dope. Aren't their ideals like a good thing?... peace, love, and brotherhood, no matter who u are. It's what the world should be like. Just looking for people's opinions....

hippies are a thing of the past, i do like hard working decent people who are easy going ,comfortable in their own skin, who have no problem expressing their views not aggressively and respecting others. i work with a bunch of hippicrits of course their nurses though, how wierd.

No. I think being a hippie is a horrible idea. Don't get me wrong there are some things in "hippydom" that are great. Love of nature, the conservation of animals and natural resources...all of that is awesome. I just do not beleive in the ideals that everyone should be complacent. If america was complacent we as a country would not be a world power!!! Since the beginning of time people have been fighting. You cannot put more than 5 men or women in a place together for an extended period of time and not expect them to fight even with our civilized brains!!!!! It's engrained in human nature to fight and wage war. I think in a perfect world peace would be possible, but with the allocation of resources this world has....and the fact we are running out of space at an alarming pace there has to be some sort of natural system of checks and balances. Sadly enough in past times war has been a means of population control.....along with natural disasters. Do I beleive in the ideals of war "hell no" do I believe it will go on until the end of time..."hell yes"

I think they do a fine job of mouthing platitudes while living off of other people's work. They don't, themselves, do anything to promote that love or peace among others, such as feeding the poor, clothing the naked, or visiting the sick and imprisoned. (I've noticed that they leave those things to the Christians to do so those Christians can keep Matthew 25:36.) Instead, hippies do the most selfish of things, take drugs and check out altogether.

Hm well.I've been called a free-spirited person,I don't smoke dope either.I don't totally follow society.I act,dress different.
Hippies are cool in a way.I don't believe in everything they do but they have the right idea.Peace man.

absolutely! if only things were that simple.....the fact is...they are not. there is a real issue of safety and defense of our country(our neighbors,our families,ourselves) i abhor war just as you do. it would take a worldwide concerted effort to "drop the weapons" for things to become peaceful. no one is willing to be the first, so....the guns remained ******. its a sad sad state of affairs.
