okay, so i was best friends with this girl for about a year. all of a sudden she completely changed. last summer she started sleeping with all these guys, partying all the time with older guys, almost drank herself to death one night (i'm pretty sure it was on purpose), i ended up dragging her down to the hospital, & she went off to this treatment place. i found out she'd made up all these stories and lies, and had done more stuff than i thought. but i thought after treatment and counceling she had changed. she did for a while but then went back to how she was. we didn't talk for about three months. now though, we've been talking, and she's changed a lot. at least i think. how can i be sure? i think it might be different this time though cuz i should know what to look for now right? am i right for giving her a second chance, cuz i think i am. what's the point in trying to get someone to change and then not giving them a chance to show you when they do? i just need an outside opinion.

Okay i get you, First of all she's really really lucky to have a friend like you, becuz true friends are hard to find, and it usually turns out when ur in trouble it seems that all ur friends are gone, and u on tha other hand were there for her. I think after all that stuff she did and after her treatment place she is better, but not completely, i mean she could still be dealing with emotional problems, all u can do is be ther to listen and if she doesn't change or goes back to her old ways at least u know that u were a good friend and she cant say u weren't

There must be something that you really like about your friend. She is obviously in trouble and sometimes it just has nothing to do with you, it's to do with her. And, lucky her, she has you! That's great, because when things go wrong and people feel lost - friends hold the light and make it all worth-while. Try not to take it personally and see how it goes. Good luck!

ouch that must've hurt you bad, seeing your friend like that. well, just tell her that you care about her dearly and you don't want her to be how she was cause you don't want to see her get hurt all over again. i say give her another chance. definitly. because if you don't, there won't be anyone stopping her from doing what she had done before. hopefully everything will be alright.

Something like that can be a life-changing situation. Be there for her but don't put all your eggs in one basket! Make other friends too!
