Is it true? Does anyone know why?

Yes, its true. Over-scrubbing your face removes all the natural oils on your skin, which can send your skin into overdrive, producing even more oil than it had before. The oil feeds the bacteria that causes acne. good luck, take good care of your skin =)

i dont think it causes breakouts, but it will irritate your skin and cause it to be blotchy and red. I like to just exfoliate my face once a week and just use a good cleanser the rest of the time...thats what works for me, but no two faces are the exact same.

Your skin naturally produces certain nutrients and oils that must be maintained for a healthy balance.

If you over scrub your face, you are removing these necessary oils which therefore causes an improper ph balance.

Phisoderm's products specialize in maintaining this balance.

Try them out to get your skin back to normal.

Also keep in mind that over scrubbing the skin on your face will make it more sensitive and vulnerable to the sun. Be sure to wear spf.

Hope this helps!

It definitely does for me, any kind of scrubbing, whether a scrub cleanser, a washcloth, complexion brush, etc. I get breakouts within a few hours. I don't know why, but I know not to do it anymore.

I believe it does, because even though you are cleaning the face. You are scrubbing to far under your skin,so if you accidentally pop a pimple it spreads into a cleansed area on the face.....
