Do you change them yourself? Or have a shop do it? How long does it take to change them?
If it doesn't take long, or you do it yourself, go with the regulars.
If it takes a long time, or lots of labor charges, go with the best.
Some cars take more than 3 hours to change the spark plugs, why wouldn't you use the longer lasting ones in that case?
But your vehicle probably doesn't take that long, probably has quite a few miles already and the regulars will last long enough.

Actually, let's be real here...platinum is more expensive than gold sometimes, so to be accurate, you aren't getting a "platinum" plug. At best you get a standard plug that is anodized.

I tried a set of four once, and there was absolutely no difference in either performance, or how long they lasted.

The old rule of thumb holds true, maintain your car with standard parts on a regular basis, and it will last a long time...
