Given the choice between the following, which would you choose?
a) A world where both men and women shared decision making power, with neither having an edge over the other in any specific area.
b) A world where decisions were made by the sex with the greatest aptitude in that field, based on a commonly held social belief structure.
c) A world where one sex dominated the other (either male or female, in either position) due to a sincerely held belief that one sex is inferior to the other in terms of leadership qualities.
Example of A: A senate-like governing body, similar to Ancient Greece, where each member is given a single vote, with equal weight.
Example of B: A Head Female Physician of the Pre/Postnatal section of a Hospital
Example of C: Female world leaders who would sooner talk to one another than shoot at one another.

Baba Yaga:
No, you misread the connotation of the question. A sincerely held belief could be religious, social or other. Take, for example, Syrian dress codes for women. A woman, in public and escorted by a man, must be covered from head to toe, less her eyes.
To the Syrians, this is acceptable behaviour, and therefore a sincerely held belief that a womans body is a thing of amoral quality.
Who are we to tell them different? It is their culture, their "opinion" of what is right and what is not.

I think I'm gonna get a lot of negative ratings for this answer. But I'm going to say it anyway, cause it's my opion and it's very powerful.
I usually like to keep things the way Nature designed them and not deny the natural course of evolution.
Which is why I definitely choose "c) A world where one sex dominated the other", because in any interaction or relationship between 2 living creatures, one has to be dominant and the other submissive.
Think about how dogs interact with each other, how they interact with different types of people (more or less dominant) and how different people interact with each other. If you pay attention you'll always see that a hierarchy is created. No exception.
The dominant one sets the frame and makes the rules for how the interaction is going to be like in the future, and those rules are accepted by the submissive. This is a natural process going on in every group of social animals.
Males are powerful, physically. They compete with each other to establish a hierarchy with the alpha male on top. This means the alpha male is the most powerful, best fit to provide the females and their offspring with good protection. Being alpha, they get to choose the females and set the rules for what the future interaction is going to be like.
Females are weaker. They instead are designed to be nurturers and select the male with the best genes to mate with. They're not natural leaders, even though there is a hierarchy between them, too. There's also an alpha female.
It's kinda hard to put into words, but I think I've done OK. I hope it's helpful.

Well, that was actually a thoughtful scheme, especially with the examples. Nice question.
I'm pretty sure most people will pick A, but I say B: People with certain abilities should do certain tasks. Efficiency is a good thing, and if you can run a society (or, in this case, a world) based on a system where people do the things they're best at, happiness would probably increase and there would be a lot less conflict, especially in the workplace.
Again, nice question.
EDIT: Should have read the entire thing: the "society" part changes my answer a bit; women and men should of course be allowed entry into all fields, but would have to pass some type of examination to do so in all cases. My whole basic point is that the BEST person for the job should get the job, nothing more.

I think that men and women are created with the ability to be better in one field than another. Men can't have children, and women can't... well... there has to be something men do that women can't. I'm just too tired to think of it.
Therefore, I think that B makes the most sense. I know that "A" will get a lot of votes by the feminist crowd, and "C" a lot of votes by the severely feminist (or male chauvinist) crowd, but I think B makes the most sense.
I hate having a male gynecologist. They're like, "Well, this shouldn't hurt..." Well, how the hell do they know??? Or when the (male) doctor told me during labor, "It's not that bad. Women do it every day." ooooh.... I wanted to kill him. If it's not that bad, why doesn't HE shove a 10 pound baby through his... anyway... Sorry, that's a personal rant. =D Hope I didn't offend anybody.
But you see my point.
I think B makes the most sense. I think it would to most people, if women could take a step back and let their pride and need to prove themselves go for a sec.

B: decisionmaking by the sex with the greatest aptitude in that field, based on a commonly held social belief structure
that makes it easiest for those that are good in their field to become experts - some of our abilities will always be slightly twisted by society's expectations

Given the choice, my friend, derovius, I would chose to work for justice, knowing I can not order the world as I like, but must deal with the world as it is.

Section B makes the most sense. Women can be just as good as men at fixing cars, and men can be just as good as women as PR, but on a societal scale, one gender prevails over the other in most fields.

a...b wouldn't work because i don't think society could agree which sex had more aptitude in a certain field, and that would only encourage gender stereotypes. and not c because...well, that'd just suck
