There is usually only one or two per school. The same school may have 6-8 core subject area teachers (for each subject).

Not really....computers is usually taught by Business teachers, unless you are talking about programming (that would be the math teachers).
Today, kids need computer skills very early in their school career, so computer skills are being taught in the elementary grades. Some elementary teachers actually teach it to the students depending on what applications are needed for the assignment.
In high school, Business courses are tough to fit into a student's schedule because there are so many requirements for graduation. So Business teachers are in less demand. I am in a school that requires one year of Computer Applications in 9th grade. At one time, I used to teach it for 2 full years, but high school kids are more computer literate now.

Absolutely! Most high schools have just one or two, and those classes fill fast.

Any tech. ed. job is in demand. Just keep your nose clean, get a certificate, and apply. You'll be hired before you know it.
