I love everyone

Your question reflects two thoughts in Sociology. One is called selective perception, which means you choose what you want to see for whatever reason (+/-). The other is a generalization, you take your personal experiences and apply it to explain society's behavior as a whole.
To get back to your question. There is a little bit of both going on in society. Some people choose not to care about others and there are others like Oprah that spend millions of dollars and invest a lot of time and energy to help out others. It takes all types to make the world go round. Its up to you to make your positive mark on society.

people are becoming busier with their own lives, I don't think its a case of people not caring, people just haven't got the time or can't find the time. Life nowadays is all go. I work in health care and i wouldn't change it for the world, I do my job because I genuinely care for others and not because it was the only job I could get at the time!

Because in our communities people are becoming strangers. TV/computers and such like keep people indoors more and therefore we lose contact with our neighbours. Thereby, we are becoming more cautious of each other and withdrawn into our own personal lives. If our streets were safer and community centres offered broader opening hours and events it could be a solution to bringing everyone so to speak back into a caring nature.

I care about other people still.

At the same time don't you think that people have got more selfish to others because of the way they have consistently had rudeness and abuse from others. There are a lot of good people out there still, but there an awful lot who are decidedly offensive and uncaring.

I think it all has a lot to do with the pressures of life nowadays, but that doesn't excuse rudeness.

Or.......

Perhaps its just lack of breeding, and not being taught good manners.

Everyone has their own reasons. Some people are selfish. Some people are too busy. Some people just have a general resentment towards others. Some people do care.

Because we have passed a decisive point in history, and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when that happened. But what has happened is that the previous eras of history culminated in a breakthrough into something that is like Where ARE We? What were we doing all along, what did we hope to achieve. Why should we continue any longer?

I certainly care about people in the whole of society.

I think a lot of people are afraid to care too much because of the concept of terrorism.

It has changed us as humans. The result of most alarmist theories is that we can't help each other.

Many folks are raised with parents who afford no discipline nor structure and allow their children to develop in to narcissistic jerks who think only of "me".

However, it is not the case with everyone- folks just dwell on negative news and that's all you hear about, is negative news.
