Due to the depletion of a muscle building hormone, I heard that body builders should wait 4-6 hours after a workout before having an orgasm...ultimately.

Is this true?

That's silly. Perhaps you shouldn't spend so much time reading at stupid body building forums. I've been to the bodybuilding dot com forums many times, and only one person in ten has any intelligence. Everyone goes by "rumors" and no one knows how to educate themselves in a proper way. If someone there said that if you stand on your head for twenty minutes after a work-out it will make you grow faster, a hundred people there would probably try it out of their own stupidity.

You don't build your muscle within several hours of working out, anyways. It takes a number of days to heal after stressing your muscles. The first several hours after a work-out some inflammatory response actually occurs and more damage takes place. This is partly what leads to soreness sometimes.

The only hormone that increases system-wide with any slight significance after orgasm is prolactin, and this is a very short lived spike and not relevant anyway. Males who abstain from sex might have slightly higher testosterone levels, but not enough to make a difference.

Sex will actually release endorphins and other chemicals that might have a mild anti-inflammatory response and relax muscles. So, if anything there might be a slight negligible benefit.

Stop believing rumors spread by dimwits.
