You need 3 cardboard boxes... label them
1. Save
2. Give Away
3. Throw Away
Everything you have will fit in one of these categories.
Do your clothing first... If you haven't worn it in 3 months... get rid of it.... Then do shoes next. After the boxes are full, move them out of your room and start again.
Then do your junk . If you have any type of paperwork, you will need a few file folders to put the "save" stuff in and be sure to label them.
Set a timer for 30 minutes. After the timer goes off, stop for the day. After about 30 days you will see that this has been time well spent and you did not miss loosing the 30 minutes per day doing a chore that you did not want to do to start with. I know you can do this~ now get off this computer and begin!

First get rid of everything you no longer need, use, or wear. Try making a few bucks on your local craigslist with your unwanted items.

Then take whats left and put everything where it goes or where it should go and then organize each area accordingly.

Have two piles, things you want to throw, and things you want to keep.
Take away and box up the things you want to get rid of and think of a plan with what to do with them.
Meanwhile you have a nice tidy room which will motivate you and make you feel better about the challenge!

The space saver bags work really well for clothes, etc. They are the ones that you suck all of the air out with the vaccum. Saves a lot of space!
