I saw it three times before and I don't really get it, it's weird.

it is easier to understand than
cache, donnie darko,a clockwork orange, 2001 a space odyessy etc...
Requiem gives the message: do no do drugs, do not listen to the media - use your head and dont be a sheep. Live a happy life being yourself.

Well,it's not just about drugs.It's about addiction and obsession.
Which can be anything that distracts you from your reality.The people in the movie are all not dealing with their problems.They either take drugs,have sex,drink coffee,watch TV,etc. to ignore their problems.Why it's called Requiem for a Dream is because all their lives sort of come together in the end with the great music score at the end.

It's the best. It's about four people who are trying to reach their dream but fail in doing so because they are using harmful means in doing so. Sort of like fighting fire with fire.
I also suggest Pi from the same director. And you can read the book Requiem For a Dream because it gives more insight to the characters and plot.

yea its a crazy film. u have to pay attention and know kinda wats going on u know what i mean. but good movie
