I have heard so many mixed things on online education and I am wanting to get my MBA with a focus on accounting. There are no schools close enough for me to take classes in the traditional manner. I have to take courses online in order to get my degree. I am wanting to get my CPA when I complete college. Are there any schools that I could get a valid degree and also be able to take my state CPA exam?

Well, since I didn't make any grammatical errors in my question, I don't see why I would need to take any extra courses in English. My English grammar is perfectly fine. I can read the schools accredidation just fine, I am simply looking for other people's experiences.

What state do you live in?

I go to Texas A&M U. - Commerce. It's Texas State University (so it's legit) that has a 100% online MBA, and I believe you can focus on accounting. I don't know what your state requires for the CPA exam, but they are worth checking out.

Check accredited colleges that offer online components - you need help with your English too- I'm not saying that to be mean but if you don’t know how to tell a good program from a bad, and you don’t read and write well then you need a lot more school. If you check your local state college see if they offer distance learning courses etc that lead to the CPA, with license- they will tell you, they have nothing to hide. But if you do that route I would take some additional courses so that people will respect you at work- you don’t want to make mistakes in your writing etc.

MBA or MS Accounting -- http://www.umuc.edu/
MBA or MAcc Accounting -- http://www.ggu.edu/cybercampus/
MBA or MS Accounting -- http://sln.suny.edu/index.html

Most online programs prefer you to minor in accounting or have taken some accounting classes on campus before starting the online MBA-Accounting program.

Most online accounting programs are very tough. Most online students don't survive it or just simply avoid it. The most successful online accounting students already have some accounting or bookkeeping experience or coursework.

I recommend doing the MBA online and do the accounting portion (15-20 credits?) on-campus somewhere. CPA eligibility requires 24 semester or 36 quarter credits of accounting, I think. Good luck!

I am enrolled in AIU Online University. It is a great online university, and the professors are very helpful. As for the exam, you will have to look it up your self, sorry.
