yes. I would want to know so I could focus more on the names, the colors for baby and accessories and clothes. It makes it easier for the babyshower----what to buy. takes the guesswork out of shopping and saves time on gift exchanges. I think you can bond better with baby as a female --- if you know the sex or dad can bond more knowing it's a boy or visa versa. WHAT REALLY COUNTS THAT BABY IS HEALTHY!

I am pregnant with my first child, and I was DYING to know! I felt like I couldn't wait any longer. I just wanted to know what to buy and pick a name and get it monogramed on stuff, etc... I think maybe with baby #2 I'll keep it a surprise... because I think it would be so awesome to hear the doctor say "It's a...." and it be a total surprise! The only down side is not being able to buy as much... having to buy only the unisex baby clothes is hard, as they are very limited, but there are lots of cute nursery decorations and baby bedding sets that could go either way... it really all depends on the parents!

I could hardly stand waiting 19 weeks to find out if I was having a boy or girl! I wanted to decorate the nursery and buy clothes. Since I HATE green and yellow, the traditional unisex colors, the last thing I wanted was a closetful of those color clothes.
Some people want to be surprised, but I am most certainly not one of those people.

I am pregnant and I am going to find out what I am having. I think that it makes it easier to find out what you are having because you can get better prepared for your new arrival and its needs. Waiting until the baby comes out seems silly to me because your going to find out anyway. And as modern medicine progresses their is little chance of inaccuracy. I haven't met anyone who has had a baby recently has been told that their baby is a girl and has come out a boy. So I see no point in waiting and besides its the best part about being pregnant other making the baby.

absolutely I would find out (and I did find out for my twin sons). I think knowing makes it more real in a way, you can fantasize about what it will be like when your son or daughter is a kid. It also gives you more time to plan and lets you do things like pick blue or pink for the nursery/clothes... if you want a unisex nursery, that's great, but I would prefer to know.
The only pro for not finding out is the element of surprise, but really, who wants to have everyone pestering them about what they 'think' it will be, and talking about silly myths like 'oh you're hanging low, must be a boy'
It's a personal decision, so when your time comes, do whatever you feel like doing

I'm pregnant and I'd love to know but the baby hasn't been in the right position so far. It just makes it easier when buying things and having a shower

We were surprised with our first child (a daughter) but decided that it would be easier to find out the gender with our second (a girl, due April 7). It just seemed like there was more planning involved this time, since we already have one girl, and we're happy with our decision to find out.

I would. But that's just me because I like to be prepared. With everything the baby might need. It's easier to prepared the babies room with time before the baby comes and to do the shopping. Because when babies are born is overwhelming and time sometimes is tight. You have to get adjusted to the baby and the routine etc. So I like to know.

I wouldn't want to know. I'd like it to be a suprise. I don't care if people buy me girl's clothes and it ends up being a boy. I'd rather leave myself in suspense.
Plus, if you want a girl and you get an ultrasound to find out what it is and then it's a boy, you're going to be disapointed. I don't want to get disapointed at all. I'm going to love my kid no matter if it's a boy or a girl or a he-she.
