Any card should work with any router, the only problem is they may use different methods to set WEP or WAP but it will work. One advantage to using the same maker is that you may be able to take advantage of proprietary enhancements such as speed doublers and things like that.

As long as you have a wireless card in your notebook you are fine!

Most devices are standards compliant - which means you can use any card with any wireless access point. Some old equipment may not be, but anything you buy today will work.

They are all supposed to work together, but, it sure wouldn't hurt to get the same brand, if that's an option. I would.
