you are clearly forgetting a team that by far and away has a great chance of winning it the steelers

they are only one year removed from their XL victory and if you look at their roster they really do not have that many holes at all

acutaly roster wise they may be the most set team in football, second only to maybe the chargers. they were a much more balanced team then either one of the two super bowl contenders this year with the bears so called "qb" in rex grossman and the colts with their run defense that finshed dead last in the entire league

however i think that the 3 teams w/ the best chances are the steelers, bangels, and ravens beacuse they are all very good physical teams and they will play each other twice so the competion will prove to be very tough but even though all three are pretty much gauranteed not to make the playoffs whichever one of the three that does will most likely be a better team then the bottom 3 seeds, despite what the record will say

my top 10 in order

1. pitt
2. bengels
3. saints
4. chargers
5. ravens
6. colts
7 . pats
8. eagles
9. cowboys
10. bears

5. Colts
6. Pats
7. Broncos
8. Eagles
9. Seahawks
10. Titans
Super Bowl 42 is going to be between my top two teams. The AFC is a much harder than the NFC so the lombardi is coming to the AFC for the next couple of years.

1. Colts- Peyton Manning. Enough said.
2. Saints- Brees has proven himself, Reggie has proven to be an impact rookie, along with Marques Colston. Deuce stayed healthy and carried the workload. Joe Horn played good dispite injuries. Will Smith and Scott Fujita anchor the D.
3.Patriots- Brady has great poise and leaderhip, but will the departure of Corey Dillon have a serious impact on talent and moral?
4.Eagles- McNabb is healthy and the rest of the division is falling apart. Westbrook stood up and had one of his best seasons. B-Dawk is older, but seems to get better with age.
5.Chargers- Norv ain't a great talent on the coaching staff, but he can't lose with all that talent.
6.Bears- People getting arrested don't help their chances.
7. Broncos- They never have back-to-back new seasons, and they got a new talent w/ Jay Cutler.
8. Seahawks- Alexander and Hasselback, just stay healthy.
9.Ravens- Lost Adalius Thomas and O and getting it done.
10. Titans- Just putting them in because VY is a play maker.

I like Meanmachine and banshee's answer. The only reason Pittsburgh didn't make the playoffs last year was because Big Ben missed spring training, got in the wreck, and had an emergency appendectomy. He shouldn't have been playing. They probably could have made the playoffs with Charlie Batch. With Ben fully recovered:
1. Steelers
2. Colts
3. Saints
4. Bears
5. Chargers
6. Broncos
7. Falcons
8. Bungles
9. Ravens
10. Seahawks

5.ravens
6.saints
7.chargers
8.bengals
9.eagles
10.broncos (it's between them and the seahawks, but i really don't think the seahawks have what it takes)

either way i'd bet on an afc team to take the lombardi home again
