At five months, Colace is safe. You can buy a generic version for MUCH cheaper than the name brand. It works wonders, I promise.

I totally feel for you. I'm 11 weeks and am having that problem too. By now you know constipation is common. Ask your Dr. first, but there are stool softners you can take to help you go. Otherwise try a Luna Protein bar. They are great and have fiber in them. Since I've started eating them, I've been more regular! Good luck!

Constipation is a problem during pregnancy anyway. You're going to end up constipated at some point regardless of whether you get sick or not. You need to eat a lot of fiber and cut caffeine and any dark liquid out of your diet. Drink only water and juices.

Prune juice is excellent at getting the bowels to move, but it tastes SO nasty! Um, I also eat cereals like bran flakes and raisin bran to help with that. I've heard a lot of women say that a cup of coffee actually helps with that but I've never tried it since I don't drink the stuff LOL. GL finding something that works.

The best thing to do is take an over the counter stool softener. Do not use anything with stimulants, this can be very painful and mock labor pains. Just ask your pharmisicts at Walgreens, or whereever you shop.

confirm you're taking prenatals and getting calcium in one way or yet another, that infant's going to take it from you no remember in case you like it or no longer and you gets some intense cavities. I even have gentle gums for the reason that I have been given pregnant, yet no issues, I make valuable i'm getting calcium.

Believe it or not, oatmeal has a ton of fiber, raisins or Raisin Bran cereal (I think the Total Raisin Bran has the most fiber).
