Now, you need to start by cleansing your face with a cleanser made for Combination skin (since you have dry patches and oily patches) Then I suggest using the same type of formula for a moisterizer. That will help balance out your skin. Don't be afrain to moisterize your skin because you have oily patches.. Moisterizing will help. My favorite foundation is Medium Coverage Foundation by Mary Kay, I have used it since I was Young, Its the Only thing that doesnt give my skin a crazy weird reaction.

okay .... i've been thru the same thing as u are now (and I'm still working on it now). I'm still trying to find out which is the permanent way to get rid of the oily noise. But here is a make-up tip that I think it might help you (it worked quite well for me). L'oreal liquid powder (which I really love) and loose powder (any brand) could help u solve the oily problem when u wear make up. I first lightly apply the loose powder, then put on the liquid powder, and finally go over ur entire face once again with the loose powder (this is my own way that I found very useful). I promise this will help the oily area on ur face. hope it helps a bit! Good luck!

Use bare minerals/ essentuals!! It looks natural and doesn't clog up your pores. It doesn't look cakey either. My face is very oily too and that works very well for me.
Also try oil absorbent sheets to remove the access oil around your face [nose , forehead, etc] Put lotion on the area that is dry. It sounds like we have the same skin type and this is all i use, it works really well.

I think we have the same time of skin. My forehead and nose is very oil, which sometimes causes pimples on my face. I have to wash my face every night before going to bed. You could try that as well. Use a oil absorbing sheet to clean up your face. Try to use a white or baby powder on that area before going to bed.

i actually just gave this info to someone else, but i went to my doctor for the dry, oily combination skin on my nose, forehead.eyebrows etc....there is a shampoo that can be put on your skin called ketoconazole that can be purchased without a prescription, you have to ask the pharmacy for it and can only get it in 1% strength, anything above that requires a perscription

I am the same way and I don't even use foundation anymore.
I use just powder foundation cause I can use Oil of Olay wipes at least once during the day and reapply the powder foundation.
And, not wreck the rest of my makeup, like my eye makeup.

I would suggest using stridex to clean your face and cetaphil lotion afterwards. Cetaphil mosturizes without making your skin oily. I use it and I get complements on how perfect my skin is, and I am right in the middle of puberty. Normally you get more pimples but I have less. Good luck.

You should use a waterbased liquid foundation. Don't try to use two way cake or else your skin will look fake and cakey.
