I had sex with my girlfriend a week ago(Tuesday). She said she was supposed to have her period this past Sunday (5 days later), but it hasn't started yet. We had sex Saturday night and there was a little blood afterwards, but since then all there has been is a little pink. She scared that she might be pregnant, because her period is pretty regular. She is a little stressed at work and over this and I was wondering if that could cause her period to be late?

besides pregnancy, it could have to do with stress, not eating enough food (like belimic or anerexia) sickness, other women who she is around a lot whom she hadn't been spending much time with before (i don't know why, but female cycles have a tendancy to regulate themselves acording to the times and lengths of other gurls they hang with. for example, if a girl goes to camp for a month or two, there periods will start to change so they all come about the same time). if you want to know for sure if she's pregnet, take a pregnancy test. other signs of pregnancy are: swelled and aching breasts, frequent need to use the restroom, stomach sickness (also known as morning sickness even though it can acure at any point in a day/night), throwing up, change in eating patterns (eating more, eating less, eating at times the gurl normally wouldn't, and eating foods or food combinations the gurl normally doesn't eat), wieght gain or loss, bleeding during or after sex, and cramps during or after sex.

Some times, skipping or late periods can be a normal thing, and could be caused by stress or health issues.
Still, I wouldn't discount the possibility of pregnancy. Just because "MOST" women ovulate 1/2 way through their cycle doesn't mean that all women do.

well it depends, because her period are regular she should know how heavy she normally is, and if some blood came out after having sex with her is normal for pregnancy and also having cramps after sex (if your pregnant) more in likely she might be pregnant because if she was having her period then it would be the "normal" load of blood she;s used to and she's stressing because it's not. light spotting a common in early pregnancy and it's a early sign of it. have her take a pregnancy test to see if she is for sure to rest her mind and yours. if she is pregnant i hope you stay with her and raise the baby, she will need your help, be responsible and take care of her.

Didn't you know that sex causes pregnancy??? Why are you risking it?? Yes it is possible for her to skip a period. Stress has a big factor!!! What is most important though is if she IS pregnant....this baby needs 2 loving parents. If she is pregnant, and you don't plan on keeping the baby and getting married, PLEASE look into adoption. That would be the best for the child.

well i think u should have check her monthly period before having sex a week before her period .also u guys should at least use a condom if you're not sure of having a baby now.also check with her doctor if there's no serious problems going on.

I would say that she should wait until she's missed her next periond and then take a test...it you've just had a sex a week ago it's still too early to tell.
