Describe a time when you stood up for something you beleived in, even when many people were against you?

what were you standing up for? what was the outcome?

I stood up against my incredibly sexist female boss who made an arbitrary rule that all male employees could not have hair past their collars (a male friend of mine and my son both worked there and had long,neat ponytails) Outcome? I had the privilege of an honored place on her permanent s**t list. Not an easy place to be because she was an unholy terror.

I personally believe it's wrong to judge anyone for any reason. I live in a small town with a lot of small minds and there is man who is transforming into a woman. People are offended and uptight about it. I stick up for this person everytime I hear someone talking smack about them. Several times it's almost resulted in a physical fight.
No one is any better than anyone else and it's about time we all realize that. Get over your stupid phobias and get real. We're all human after all.

was at smoko one day when a mate made a joke about throwing boat peoples kids over board,this really ticked me off and said out loud what i felt,he didn't have much to say at all after that.

Well I'm one of the only people who thinks that cus words aren't offensive, and that they're just simple words, therefore harmless. Most of the school workers don't think so.

Well I stood up to a teacher who liked Rush I told him Metallica was better and now he won't stop bothering me and chants Rush, Rush, RUSH!
