I do know that increasing temps and increasing day length and sun intensity make all 'Cole" crops bolt or try to bloom; definately something to be avoided if trying to get them bigger.

Ha, My daughter is doing the same thing so I will be looking to see what advice you get. We live in Oklahoma and have ours in the ground but have had to cover it a bunch of nights becouse it has been cold. I am sure you have read over the little sheet they sent home with the cabbage. It looks like they need a lot of water. I am not a big fan of chemical fertilizers but I think to be competitive we will have to use them. The page indicates that they should be fed every week but that seems like to much to me and we have only done this one time and I am not sure when to put more. Anyway, good luck!

If you spray a little gibbarelic acid, it will force it to go to seed. With good fertilizer they grow 6 to 8 feet tall and flower!
