Dash - yes both are acceptable.
But ensure when asking "what it is" that you emphasize "is." (which s the purpose of that particular inflected word order)

Shasta - while you're on dansmiths sack so hard you should know that there is no such things as future participle in any english, so he obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.

properly I dont pay attention too many Black people say "tree"..it sounds greater like "thuree".. distinctive countries pronounce words in any different case. Does this count variety as "BVE" as you're saying, or basically the way a subculture contains its language over a time? the place im from we are saying issues like: Mummy/Mudda-Mommy/mom Fadda-Father Ting-element Gwan-bypass on Mout-Mouth Bun-Burn Liscen-Liscense Trow-Throw An-and that i-i'm Wit-With etc...

Nobody needs Ebonics 101. Stop being so lazy and learn how to speak proper English. Nobody wants to hire an illiterate - and if they do, they'll hire a Mexican.

actually i thought one of the defining characteristics of Ebonics was the lack of conjugation of the verb "be" so past, present an future participle have no meaning/
ex:
English
I went to the park yesterday
i will be going to the park tomorrow
i am at the park now
Ebonics
I be going to the park yesterday to sell crack
I be going to the park to buy crack right now
I be going to the park tomorrow to pick up a 'Ho'
